5/8 Double Braid Mooring Pendant

Description

Our 5/8″ Double Braid Mooring Pendant is spliced in house at The Rope Guru with a coated polyester double braid, a heavy duty galvanized or stainless steel thimble and 15″ eye with 3 feet of movable chafe sleeve on the standing portion of the line. A tag line is built into base of eye for helping to seize to a bow cleat or pick up buoy.

A balanced polyester double braid  is ultimately a better rope for mooring over nylon.  Why? Nylon, although has greater stretch and energy absorption characteristic does NOT like to be wet then dried, then wet again.  This will ultimately be why a nylon rope would fail over time.  Therefore we choose a top grade polyester fiber with a marine overlay finish that helps lubricate the fibers which help extend its fatigue life. 30 years of extensive research has shown polyester is a better rope in the long run.
